Quantitative Analysis Portfolio
Meets Criteria A, B, D, E, G, H, L, M
This artifact for COUC 745 incorporated independent samples t-test, repeated measures t-test, a one-way between subjects ANOVA, a two-way between subjects ANOVA, and ANCOVA to analyze and summarize quantitative results.
Benchmark Final Article Submission
Meets Criteria A, B, D, E, F, G, H, L, M
COUC 745 Final Article
This article is the final submission for COUC 745 allowed me to complete the research process with a team of students and prepare the abstract, title page, tables and figures, submission text, references, and cover letter for journal submission and publication.
ACES Information Session Submission Outline
Meets Criteria I
ACES
This proposal was written for COUC Supervision and Consultation as preparation for research and submissions for professional counseling conferences.
Qualitative Dialogue Paper
Meets Criteria A, C
Qualitative Dialogue Paper
This artifact from COUC 750 allowed me to explore the various philosophical assumptions within qualitative framework to effectively conduct a study.
Qualitative Research Coding and Analysis
Meets Criteria A, C, D, G, M
Coding and Analysis, Researcher Identity Memo
This artifact for COUC 750 provided a transcript and I coded it based on the skills I learned throughout the class. Additionally, I submitted a Researcher Identity Memo to succinctly convey thoughts, feelings, and questions that came up for me during the coding experience.
Benchmark Manuscript Submission: Counseling Conference Presentation
Meets Criteria A, C, F, G, H, I
This artifact for COUC 810 was a culmination of group research and writing to create an original manuscript for submission to a counseling journal.
CITI Training for Research and Scholarship
Meets Criteria J, L, M
This artifact was required training in COUC 745 and was provided by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative, which allows access to compete IRB submissions for the university.
Model Rationale Assignment
Meets Criteria A, B, G
This assignment in COUC 745 was the initial group assignment with my peers that included a research question, a rationale, and a model for our research.

Reflection
1. Reflect on the process of developing leadership level knowledge, skills, and practices in this competency. What has been especially impactful/meaningful/important to you personally and professionally?
One surprising outcome of this competency is discovering that I truly enjoy research and now understand the importance of its impact on improving both the profession and patient outcomes.
2. Describe an area of strength that you have developed while in the program in this area of competency. What is one way you plan to utilize this strength in your vocation?
I have developed a love for qualitative coding; while other skills took time and great effort, coding seemed to come naturally to me and I enjoy it. I plan to use this skill in future research endeavors.
3. Describe an area of challenge/growth opportunity in this area of competency. What is your plan to develop excellence in this area?
I had to grapple with the “why” of quantitative analysis, specifically SPSS. While I still do not completely understand the inner workings of this program, I appreciate its efficiency and plan to continue learning more as I pursue quantitative research opportunities.
4. Reflect on how faith in Christ relates to this competency.
Luke 12:7 tells us that God even knows the numbers of hairs on our heads, so I believe that He will equip me with everything I need to gain understanding in research for His glory.
